Research

Our research on ultracold neutrons can be divided into four areas:

1. Improvement of UCN sources at the TRIGA reactor. Our goal is a high amount of storable ucn compared to the total neutron spectrum.
2. The determination of the free neutron lifetime with our storage experiment τSPECT.
3. The determination of a new upper limit for a permanent electrical dipole moment of the neutron at the Paul Scherrer Institut.
4. Precision determination of neutron decay correlation parameters with the BRAND experiment.
